Purabi Das is a writer of literary fiction, poetry and personal essays. She is a member of Writer’s Community of Durham Region and Canadian Authors Association. Purabi has been invited to share her stories and poems by The Emerging Writers Reading Series, Toronto (ewreading.com) and Poetry and Spoken Word Quarterly Readings and Performances, Oshawa.
Child of Water, one of the short stories in a collection, won a scholarship from the Writer’s Community of Durham Region.
Purabi has been a Marketing Specialist, Human Resources Manager, mentor to high school and university students, travelled around the world and swam with dolphins although not a swimmer herself. She believes to be able to write what she loves is just one step closer to building her personal legend. With this in mind her great passion is to bring joy to people through her stories, poems, articles in which sometimes you may even find a glimmer of magical realism. Inspiration arrives from life around her in general, travelling the globe, memories of her growing years in a sprawling home in India, and spending summer vacations at her grandfather’s house in Calcutta.
Along with a BA with Honours in English literature, diploma in Marketing and Sales administration Purabi took creative writing courses at the university of Toronto.
Her first book, What Will It Be This Time, is available from Amazon.
